Sex and Murder
Thats right folks....sex and murder. I just met with a filmmaker today and we discussed a project that she offered me and i graciously and very quickly and passionately accepted...for this project is something i have been searching for ever since i came to San Fran to make films....Fearlessness....this is a project that is entirely fearless, and so must everyone involved also be fearless....i wont say any more for now but suffice it t say, this is the most excited I've been about a project ever precisely because it is not only fearless but because it is exactly what I'm looking for exactly when I'm looking for it. This is a dream project that fell into my lap at the perfect moment. So stay tuned...

"The Friend"
Back in the winter, at the beginning of 2012, a friend of mine and I embarked on a journey to create a film together...this short film is still the largest overall production i have directed but was never truly satisfied with the final product. This was not due to anything that my friend did, but rather my own insecurities about the film. I was never convinced it could carry itself with the extreme lack of dialogue, and some of the camera work felt incredibly raw to me as well as much of the editing. This summer i decided to re-edit the film, as well as put in new music as well as replacing all the original, location sound that was recorded but never used in the original edit. I also went into the digital intermediate and re-color graded the film, using inspiration from things like Terrence Malick's films such as The Tree Of Life or The Thin Red Line as well as the television show The Shield to create a whole new look for the film. What resulted was a much more satisfactory product. I didn't realize it though until just yesterday, when a filmmaker pointed out a flaw in the ending scene in terms of the editing. Until that moment, it never entered my mind to end the film in any way other than how it has always ended, in my mind, on the page, in the shooting, or in the cutting room. But thanks to that one comment, another few changes have been made and now the film is much better for it. Along with a few new shots is even more new music, replacing the music with a pair of themes that i feel even more closely resemble the feeling i am trying to achieve with this story. Thank you to everyone who had a part in the making of this film and thanks to Zuzana Volny for pointing out the problem with the ending and blowing my mind with such a simple idea as adding in a shot or two...And finally thank you to everyone who watches the film, for without you, the audience, we, the entertainers, would not and could not be....it is because of you we do what we do.....thank you.....and stay tuned...
